schneider wiring failure

I have been using 3awg thwn wire rated for 75C, as is the terminal, with no issues for over 2 years. On any sunny day I am pushing 100-102A all day on my two 100/600's. The terminals and wire get warm but not hot. I'm guessing you did not torque to spec and retorque the wire after some time.

To me it looks like it was overtorqued. The plastic housing is cracked and the screw isn't centered anymore. Could have then stripped the threads partially so that it wouldn't tighten down on the wire properly anymore.

Maybe in your quest to be sure it was tight, you overdid it. I say this as someone who has been there, done that.

Prob all started going wrong by jamming 1AWG wire in that connector....(per my prev post)

Certainly not a mobile one, but stationary with proper connection points, thhn would be fine.
Yes it is the proper connection points that is the issue. (though it could be the use of). Sometimes certain approaches are assumed. Such that a person will use battery rated cable. Victron is one of the few companies that is careful to spell out what wire they expect you to use.

wish you best of luck... pretend you are in the shipyard ... its torque to spec, come back after 24 hours re-torque to spec, come back at 3 months and then re torque and then check yearly unless otherwise indicated
