Have 2 EG4's that I'm running testing on one only right now. What I'm seeing with these low rates of charging (1.5-3kw ish, gen 20kw, GEN set to 7kw) I was thinking having not setting up the units in parallel mode but on the same bus as generator if with the second unit with LOAD breaker off, no interconnect cable attached will still charge the single battery bank without damaging either inverter? I maybe wrong but there shouldn't be but thought I'd ask.
Regards

As long as the AC output of the 2nd unit is not connected, it's basically just an AC charger and MPPT charger connected to a battery. You don't want their OUTPUTs to interact unless they're talking.
Ya, load and grid have no wires to them and 'OFF' . Will try tomorrow if I have time, we got some sun today and the 5 experimental Trina's charged up 15% in four hours. It's a great generator but don't like to run any really but will have to because of the fog in the '100 valleys' of Oregon. Sun doesn't appear until 1300-1400.

This setup is possible; however, we do not recommend it to avoid potential issues.
