Hello all,

New here.

Many years ago I built an electric bicycle and ordered 48v 20ah assembled battery packs using a 16s arrangement of the 20ah 3.295v a123 prismatic pouches. These batteries have proven to be excellent performers and never let me down.

I no longer use the bicycle and am looking to repurpose the packs for solar charging and energy storage, for camping and on the road use.

So in total I currently have 2 battery packs with a 16s 48v 20ah arrangement (total of 32 pouches) and they are currently each setup with a BMS with an anderson type connector and an IEC C14 connector as well. The BMS's are both working amperage 20A and peak amperage 40A

I understand that most solar panels are 12v, with this in mind what would be the recommended route to prepare these?
Should I keep them as is with their current layout and BMS and build a charging system around that?
Reconfigure the arrangement?
I also need to build cases for them as they are currently just wrapped in duct tape and blue shrink wrap.

I also have two identical chargers for the batteries, they are 120v powered.

Many thanks for any advice.
