Hi guys.
I’m new to this forum and need a bit of help.
I’m setting up 6.4 KW off grid system. So I have 16 x 400W (Vpm41v and Imp10a)
I’ve got as well 6x 200ah 12 v batteries (gel deep cycle-due to lack of funds) and 5.5Kw hybrid inverter(max input 600V) …question-how should I connect solar panels in this situation- in series or parallel? Any help and maybe a wiring diagram.
Please check below for calculations.

Most efficient option , is to connect as many in series as possible. Without going over the input voltage limit. (VOC) then add more strings of the same quantity, until you reach the max amperage limit. You're probably only going to see about 80% efficiency output. So, you can go higher on amperage. But, don't go over VOC.
Voltage adds up, in series.
Amperage adds up, in parallel.

Voc-voltage open circuit, yes?
So my inverter is voc 500v so I was thinking to connect 11 panels in series (451v 10a 4556W) then another 5 parallel ( 41v 50.5a 2071w) ant then make a series final connection that will give me total of 492v 60.5a and 6567W
Is that correct? If so, I just need to put it on the paper as lots of different connections we are talking about.

If the strings are not identical. The larger voltage strings will force power into the lower voltage strings. Instead of to the inverter. Which will be very inefficient and could damage the panels, of the smaller string.

Just realised this and please check the diagram in attachment. I think in this way will works quite good…if there something wrong I’m more than happy to see your arrangements please.
