Does it work the same in AC as in DC when using series and parallel circuits? Voltage increases in series and amperage increases in parallel?

Yes and No. For AC you should consider phase shift between sources. Why are you asking?

We had solar installed on our home 2 years ago. Love it. 28 panels with micro inverters on each. Our power bills have essentially disappeared. Just got into researching info on overall solar tech. that's why the above question. I have not seen anything on use of AC power.
I have a single panel on my camper with controller and lithium battery.
I am just getting interested.

Not sure if this helps, but most AC circuits are parallel. A good example of a series AC circuit are the Christmas lights where when one bulb goes out, they all do.

There is no problem to connect AC consumer in series or in parallel. But connecting two or more AC sources is much more complex task.
