I have 2 x 12v200Ah (Blue Carbons) and while my original plan was to put 4 of them in parallel, I'm now looking into getting to 24v by adding 2 more 24v100Ah (not Blue Carbons but same manufacturer):

2 x 12v200Ah in series (24v200Ah), then adding it to 2 x 24v100Ah in parallel.

My considerations were:
  • Each Blue Carbon weighs around 35kg (metal case with a thick metal BMS heatsink); it's gonna be installed on the second floor and with 4 of them I'm concerned with the weight and handling.
  • The 24v100Ah is cheaper by around $66 and lighter (ABS plastic case); so it's dual savings in price and weight.
At first I'm going to use it as UPS with option for solar later on.

I have watched Will's video below but I'm not really sure if my plan is good or bad.

What do you think?

My advice is don't do it. Obviously, your Blue Carbons battery has a built-in BMS, even if your new battery will have the same voltage, the internal BMS may affect each other, resulting in the unstable performance of the new battery pack. Most cases of mixing batteries only apply to "battery cells" and not "batteries".
