Shattered solar panel with weed wacker

Well I've got all these ground mounted panels and I've weed whacked a few times because of monsoon season being really bad but this time it kicked up a bunch of rocks and I wasn't so lucky in the video you can probably hear if you listen very carefully it sounds like pop rocks because the panel is actually still cracking

Oh well, time for some more crack vinyl panels from Santan at least they are cheap!

I removed it and set it aside after a coat of clear paint lol . Waste of clear paint.
Would make a nice inside window shade lol

That's why I like to keep my panels flat on the ground then I can trim directly on the panel edges with no worries about rocks flying around.

You know I was just kind of wondering that now that you mention it earlier I was thinking well I've never had a problem with any of the other panels that are laying on the ground

It's amazing how strong they are and how the smallest thing can smash up the smithereens when I was bolting down my largest trailer array I crawled up on top of them I was kind of nervous but they are surprisingly tough till you throw a little tiny stone at it.

Ground or off the ground on racks. Never just leaning against something. Ive never broke one but its my rule of thumb.

How did you do that ..are they anchored .. I have got a lot more panels stored that I don’t have the motivation to mount… I see a good use for round up in my future with this..

Hell, round-up the whole area around the panels ….brown grass is cool if ya throw in some colored river rocks and dried river wood ….bugs move on another place ….don’t have to worry about weeds either.

Looks like it would go right through TV cable and low voltage wires I'd probably keep it away from the field fence though

Yeah I'm about 40 miles south of there straight down 301 that's the closest big box store pretty convenient got a Lowe's Tractor Supply Super Walmart Aldi's that's about all I'm interested in

my first trip to orangeburg was over 50 years ago… was only 60 min out of my home Charleston … orangeburg girls were fun there back then..

It's similar to my ironworking outfit.
You don't have to worry about slag getting your boots if you're not wearing any.

Damn I totally didn't think of that. We used to have rescue / pet deer to pin with an 8 foot fence and the wild deer would jump over the fence to get in there with the rescue dear.
Now I'm concerned about my grilled array.

Well actually I cant say here why , I will just get smacked…
but I last time I was there 10 years ago, it had improved in one way…as it has a Chester’s Fried Chicken out at the hwy 601 truck stop..that’s an improvement..
Sheeee I live 200 miles north ,up in the mountains..
Got no need for the flatlands no more..unless it’s on the beach..
