Shipping from EU to UK

Hi all

First post here.

Im being told by a battery seller in China that they cannot ship from their EU warehouse to UK because the UK is no longer in EU. Anyone able to explain why? When i questioned it I was met with some abrupt responses. Are there import/export regulations at play that make it impossible? Just trying to understand.

Not impossible just more complicated and difficult for the seller and courier.

Plenty of overseas sellers won't ship to the UK directly because of the added headaches after Brexit. For one they have to be registered for VAT in the UK in addition to the EU - for many not worth it since you need an extra accountant. Furthermore, shipping the the UK is still a nightmare because of lack of lorry drivers, the paperwork involved, etc. and many carriers just don't want to deal with it.

Thanks, that makes more sense than being told they cant ship from EU to UK just beacuse we're not in EU, and implying im a bit of an idiot for not understanding that....
