I wanted to share my experience with SSK in case it can help others avoid similar frustrations.

First, I'll give credit where it's due: their pre-sales support was excellent. They spent hours on the phone with me over several weeks and answered all my questions. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of my experience.

I placed an order on 11/19 that included solar generators, extra batteries, solar panels, and accessories. Everything was listed as "in stock" and ready to ship, but the last item didn’t ship until 11/29—10 days after I placed my order. Additionally, some shipments were delayed during transit, so I didn’t receive the last items until 12/12—more than 3 weeks after I originally ordered. Since I was waiting for everything to arrive, I didn’t open any of the boxes as they came in, intending to unbox everything at once and start the installation process.

I then went out of town for the holidays the day after the last items arrived. I left on 12/13 and didn’t return until 1/3. I spent the weekend unpacking and setting everything up, only to discover that 2 of the solar panels were shattered.

I contacted SSK on 1/8, just 3 business days after discovering the damage. However, they informed me that I was outside the 30-day window to report damage. I explained the delays in shipping and the extenuating circumstances, but they refused to make an exception to the 30-day policy. While I understand the need for a time limit on damage claims, it was frustrating that SSK didn't take responsibility for the shipping delays that contributed to the problem.

I also reached out to the panel manufacturer, Rich Solar, hoping they could assist me. Unfortunately, they directed me back to SSK since they are the distributor, leaving me out of options.

Now, I’m left with two broken 200-watt solar panels that I paid for and have to figure out how to dispose of—thanks to delays on SSK’s end and my holiday travel.

So, my advice: open your items as soon as they arrive, or your solar experience might not be as sunny as you hoped.

Hey @bcoomes I am sorry to hear about your experience here. We have a 30-day policy in place to help us resolve issues quickly, but I understand how shipping delays on our end and holiday travel complicated things in your case and want to get this fixed for you ASAP. I believe I have found your order based on your username and I'm going to loop in our customer support manager so that we can get this resolved for you right away. Please stand by for an update to come via email/phone in the next 24 hours from our team and I will also shoot you a direct message on here now!

SSK reached out to me regarding my situation. It took a little time, but they contined to work with Rich Solar (the solar panel manufacturer) to get replacements approved. My new solar panels are on their way.

I'd like to thank Alex and Maddie for addressing my concerns, and their efforts to ensure I'll have a fully functional system.

Now that this problem has been resolved, I would have no hesitation in doing business with SSK again. As mentioned in my original post, the pre-sales support was outstanding, and now I've experienced first hand that they do stand behind their products.
