We have LiFePo4 battery packs in our shuttles. Some of them have a raised cylinder sticking out of the top of the battery. Are these bad, or are they a different style of battery?

Thanks!

John

It appears to be a different style vent cap. If the battery is made by the same manufacturer it could be what they had on hand at the time.

It shouldn't make a difference it's only to release the Genie if something goes south.

Those appear to be cps over the safety vents. Likely some fell off or were taken off when installed. This should have no affect on the cells themselves. IF you see the vents split open a bit, then there is a pressure issue and they have likely been deeply overcharged. Yours look fine.

Thanks guys! I didn't see any damage, but it was concerning. We'll let them ride. :)
