Signature Solar EG4 48V Data Cable Issue

My new battery, received about a month ago, just got hooked up. I was away on travel.
I use it with a SunGold 6000 48V LF that does not use data communication.
I attempted to monitor the EG4 using the supplied cable and USB to RS485 adapter. There are several issues.
1. The software in the manual does not match the software supplied from the website. Both were downloaded today.
2. The existing Youtube videos from Signature Solar have you set the DIP switches to DN DN DN DN or address 0 which agrees with the manual.
3. The yellow cable with the RJ45 connector molded on the battery end only has two wires.
4. Mine had the two wires on pins 1&2 which is to the left, if you hold the wire end away from you with the locking tab down or away from you.
To solve the problem, I crimped a new connector on the end of a scrap of CAT5 cable using the method described as 568B wiring. You can use 568A in this case with no changes.
This makes the White-Brown and Brown wires on pins 7&8 respectively
The other wires are just folded back on the computer end.
White-Brown is connected to D+ and Brown is connected to D- on the USB adapter.
They system now works with the new software set to 1 pack and Address 0.

I know it is the holiday weekend, so I did not expect to hear back from Signature Solar today.
If any other DIY'ers are working on your solar systems today, this might help.
