Single pole fuse/breaker between bus bar and SCC?

I'm pretty sure it's ok but I just thought I get an opinion.
24v 100ah battery / 50a controller

Is it ok to only fuse the positive cable between the controller and the bus bar?

Yes. That's the typical practice.

Yes, all you need is a fuse or breaker on the positive wire between the SCC and bus bar. If it's a 50A SCC then you want a 65A fuse assuming you are using 6AWG wire.
