I don't understand the correlation between long calendar life and not heating the cells. It should be just the opposite.
The cells in my RV were heated. It was a slow heat that was controlled by a thermostat. I started out with a target range of 35°F - 45°F and after a couple years increased that to 40°F - 50°F. Cells charged below 32°F can be damaged. As the temperature approaches 32°F the charge amps should be reduced.
