I've been lurking for a while, but I finally signed up and bought some gear. I'd love some input regarding practical considerations for a small starter system.
- My 1st question for the black Friday season is what wire setup would be best. The attached mockup shows my initial plan for panel placement and approximately where I would like to place the inverter in my garage. Here's what we're working with:
1. Sungoldpower 5000W 48V All in one (SPH5048), which, from best I can tell, is a rebranded SRNE HYP
2. 3x 48V 50Ah "dumb" (BMS only) LiFePO4 server rack batteries ( ~ 7.6 Kwh)
3. 10x Sunpower SPR-U405-BLK 405 W Panels (new, made by Waaree) [Vmp-38.2V, Imp-10.6A, Voc-45.4V, Isc-11.4]
4. Plan to move some loads over into an independent load center (lights, small loads). Purchased an Emporia Vue that I'll be installing this weekend to begin gathering data on good candidates for this panel
5. Located in East Tx w/ the goal would be to run the smaller loads a decent percentage of the time to offset the power bill and hopefully justify some of the cost of the hobby. Current electric bill is ~ $400 mo with 70-90 KWH per month.
- Some calculations I've done so far:
1. Voc of 45.4 x 1.2 (for weather) x 9 panels in series puts me at 490V.
2. Isc of 11.4A x 1.5 = 17.1A. With this in mind, is there a reasonable method to stay with 10 ga solar cable?
