Good afternoon,

I need to redo my little solar system. It’s a weekend cabin. No shade. Very man cave. A bigger system will come later.

I watch 12 tv, listen to the radio, lights, and charge cordless tools and phones.

300 W (3x 100 watt renogy panels)-have
Two Battle Born 100 amp LiFePo-have
Victron bluesolar pwm pro controller (12/24v-30A)-about to buy

Two questions. Is this controller ok for my needs? (The panels are 12 volts, 300 watts, 25 amps)

Is there any reason to upgrade to the Victron Smart Solar 100/30? Or the 100/50?

The mppt are quite a bit more $. ($120 versus $220/$330).

I’m not too concerned about high-efficiency at this stage since the batteries will have many days to charge while I’m away.

I’d rather not waste money on more than I need.

Unless you are upgrading something else, what you have is fine. When you get more solar, you will want to upgrade or add a second/difference change controller.

I can retire this stuff to the shipping container when I upgrade the whole deal to have air conditioning. If Enphase will ever offer it’s IQ8.
