I am designing a 200Amp grid tied system using a single Sol-Ark 15 with two discover batteries and around 10Kw of solar. The Sol-ark grid input will be connected directly to the 200amp main service with no other loads. The 15k load terminals will be attached to a 300amp main lug panel for the home's loads. Assuming the 15k can combine grid power with inverter power to its output, could it the combine a full 200amps from the grid with 50amps inverter to produce 250Amps output? The home will occasionally require over 200amps.

My understanding is that if you exceed the maximum output for batteries or PV, it goes into passthrough mode and the battery or PV only supplements the passthrough, it doesn't add to it. So no, you can't get more than 200A out of any inverter that I know of that has 200A passthrough. Now, if you parallel 2 units, you can pass through 400A.

OK. well thanks for that info. So, similarly, the 15K should be able to output 200amps with 50amps of inverter power blended with just 150amps grid then? Assuming the settings were made correctly. Right?

Because the bus is only rated at 200 amps continuous, it cannot allow the combined power to ever exceed the bus rating.
