An update that I should have posted on this thread long ago:
Problem solved. It was all due to the current transformers being improperly installed. Once they were put in the correct place and wrapped around the correct conductors, everything started making a lot more sense. The system then worked perfectly. I have since upgraded to the 8k bc I might want to expand my PV beyond 6kw.
