Sol-Ark Ethernet Connection

I've got my Sol-Ark 15K set up with an ethernet cable because the router wouldn't pick up the dongle. Had the same issue with the pi for solar assistant. Both work fine on ethernet. Question is, I can see the pi in my router, but I don't see the Sol-Ark. Shouldn't I be able to see it? Obviously not a big deal, I only noticed it dealing with another non solar related issue.

It might not be active continuously, not sure. Does it have an IP address assigned? If so, can you ping it?

A lot of the low-power network gateways go to sleep frequently and are really more set up for pushing data rather than general purpose networking.

I have both the pi and the Sol-Ark plugged into a switch. I reversed them, now they both show up. I imagine it wasn't about reversing but more disconnecting and connecting.

When in doubt with any electronics, the reboot option often works.
