My friend bought a house with solar installed and the solar monitoring system is Enphase. He has been told to pay $200 to get access to the controller. Is there a better controller as this one seems limited in my limited experience? He wants to stay below $200 and see what he is making vs. what is going out. The Sense monitor seems really good but we are looking for other alternatives.

If anyone is using the Sense monitor, do you recommend it and what do you like or dislike with it?

There's a free version of Enlighten from Enphase. They just need to go to https://enlighten.enphaseenergy.com/web/1234567 and replace 1234567 with their site ID (which they should get from Enphase when the system was transferred to them but is also the Envoy serial number, if they can't login they just need to call tech support). It's all most people need.

If they have an Envoy they can also get pull local data themselves (see https://diysolarforum.com/threads/f...toring-software-for-a-residential-system.3944).
