Solar Panel with back cover?

Hi
I recently bought a used solar panel that looks like it was from a commercial building install.
The panel has an aluminium sheet covering the back, that looks lke it was sealed water tight.
Does anyone know why this might be? Would it make it perform better or worse?
I got the panel for a van build, not sure if I should take it off.
Panel is a 200w Mono.

Interesting!

Sounds like it would make it worse... but... any photos? Possibly some experiment to radiate heat?
Any brand name on it?
