Hello, I've had a solar piston pump I put together running for nearly a year now - here's a video from a year ago.
It is built from a treadmill motor and an AJAX branded piston pump from the 60s
Rather than converting the treadmill motor to use a standard v belt pulley, I added a poly-v J section pulley to the pump end which I think is quite unusual for these sorts of projects - I did this because the pump was missing the pulley
Since the video I have modified the setup, instead of a single 12V portable panel, I bought some second hand 200W roof top panels and have 3 of them in series
I like my set up because it is simple, the treadmill motor is rated for 180V so I simply connected the 3 panels (which give about 70V) without any fancy electronics
On a sunny day I get around 3000L
