Solar wiring potential issues

The ignition cable at 14 awg and the main current carrying cables at 6 awg are about right for this instalation for cable length up to 3 meters (10 feet) , over that 4 awg would be preferred.

Could be overheating in the unit or a faulty breaker in the feed cable.

The issue may be due to exceeding the maximum current or voltage into the battery causing BMS shutdown. The unit can be programmed for charge voltage via a dip switch, see manual. The settings range from 14.0 to 14.6 volts. Try the lower setting.

Thanks. The dip setting was set to something that wasn’t even in the book so we set it to the charging limit voltage yesterday (14.6) so we will set it lower than that and see if that helps.

Hoping it’s not a faulty system as I’ve been reading in Amazon reviews and there’ve been times where people have had issues down the line with them. One guy actually did the same thing as us (hooked up LC) and it worked for him after that (just at an annoying 50% reduction).

It’s weird that this only is happening recently and we drove it from Arizona to Indiana to Michigan and back to Indy, etc. and only now has manifested itself. It started out doing it inconsistently. Meaning it would happen, we would turn the car off, and then it would be fine the next time or we could even start driving again immediately and it would be fine again.
Now it was happening all the time.

Now our inverter/charger won’t work, lol. Renogy not responding so far. Tried several different parameters based on threads on here/our battery specifications.

It’s been charging fine until within the last week or so again. Just charged them early last week but haven’t been able to since. Battery on inverter monitor seems to indicate that it thinks battery is full but it’s not nearly. Can’t find anywhere how to reset that if that’s the issue.
