Solark 2025 product releases

There was a fairly unhinged Sol-ark executive posting a while back boasting about moving to a much larger office space. Was that part of the smoke and mirrors show prior to the layoffs?

Robbys most recent claim was that sol-ark were so busy with commercial work for a huge Costco deal that they moved most of their senior techs over to that side of things. And that's why residential tech support has crapped the bed. That made no sense at all. Apparently reality is they've just shitcanned them to keep "the numbers" looking good. Pretty sure Costco deal was for one single pilot location with four solar canopies. Robbie is sure thats actually for over 800 sites...
Solark did move to a newer building some time ago a year +. I would say 20,000sqft total, most of the space is unused.

Solark did a job for Costco with Solark HV system and endure batteries. Last I heard there was some problems with comms. That project was probably in q1 of 2024. I never heard the Costco project was for 800 sites, if that were true your local Costco would have solarks.

Senior techs became level 2 support, not necessarily commercial focus techs. Last I heard from techs at solark is that now everyone on the floor is taking commercial calls.

It seems like Solark is aware of this thread. Apparently a threatening email was sent out. It would be nice to have a discussion with Solark but will they reply here?
Oh for the current employees to not speak to outsiders/ex-employees? Sounds like some Commie China free speech muzzling nonsense that won't pass muster in the USA.

If I were a Sol-Ark rep I wouldn't join the discussion either.

I have 3 brands of inverters now, and I can't see the point of hoping a company does poorly or disappears. When competition goes away, it usually just gets worse. I cringe at the posts that bash on people's equipment, and call it trash.

Factual and helpful is one thing. It's usually not that. There is a trend toward some serious fanboy-ism. My goal lately is to try to ignore it, and find some unanswered post to help out.

Unless a NDA was signed along with terms of employment. Some companies do shady shit like that and bury it in the employment docs.

I agree with most of that in principle. But when a company bricks inverters that the trusting public purchased, expecting to be able to use them, they really are trash at that point. Who would want to support such?

Let's not forget that some of the better companies are going out of business from lack of sales while these shady ones steal the market share through their crafty tactics. Not directly related to solar, but I recently discovered that CIE had gone out of business--a company that had existed for nearly a century. "CIE permanently closed on September 30, 2022." Alas! I was a year-and-a-half too late...and just when I intended to patronize them again.

If SolArk stays in business, it's a two-edged sword. Yes, other companies may lower their prices for their competing products; but if they fail on account of insolvency from having too-closely approached the brink in their attempt to compete, it would sure be unfortunate for the inferior company to be the sole survivor.

If two queens are in a bee hive, there's usually a queen fight--a fight to the death. Unfortunately, perhaps to the perplexity of evolutionists, it is not necessarily the best egg layer, nor the one with strongest genetics, who wins--just the best (or luckiest) fighter. Most beekeepers prefer to make the choice themselves, if they have the option, rather than merely letting nature take its course. Perhaps there are lessons to learn from the bees.

That can potentially control new employees that joined after the OP left. But I don't believe it can control communications you have with colleagues that you knew prior to leaving. The best they could hope for the latter is "don't discuss confidential company info", not "don't talk at all about anything".

The most common replacement parts would be mcu board, con board and dongles. Surprisingly the lcd screen also processes data sometimes it’s also replaced with the mcu board.
Thanks, is that why they've added additional transistors to the con board in the new revision of the 15k? To try and fix root cause of some problems they've been having?

Hi Norwasian,
I agree with your point in principle as well. Bad companies should go out of business.

I would just advocate toward leaning into facts. To get from what we know to what people accuse is often quite the gap.

I have 4 Solark 12K's. I bought two 4 years ago for our off grid house and later added more strings requiring two more. I have opened a few tickets on one failing 12K.

First one was for a dead CanBus port. Ticket was closed saying that wasn't covered under warranty.

Second one was for faulty MPPT's. Both max out at around 10 amps instead of the rated 20 amps. Showed the tech the problem while he was remoted in. As soon as I added a second 10 amp string both string would drop to around 5 amps...so to get the most generation I could only attach one string to each MPPT. The tech said an engineer would have to remote in to work out what was going on. Many weeks later I got a closed ticket email. I emailed back saying they hadn't resolved the issue...the reply was basically 'tough' ticket is closed you will have to open another one.

I didn't open another and just lived with the issue. Now the same inverter started throwing an AC overcurrent fault that took all the inverters down. Unfortunately we were away on vacation and power was out for a week until we returned. Losing $1k in frozen food.

I'm now debating whether its worth even raising a ticket or just cut my losses and plan to migrate to EG4 12k's.

Wow! This is obvious defective equipment and Solark isn't helping here? After buying 4 in total inverters? What a horrible company 😡
