Solis 6kW Low Voltage AC Coupled Inverter

Hi all,

I’ve just added a Solis 6kW Low Voltage AC Coupled Inverter to an existing solar setup that’s on the UK Feed-in Tariff (FiT), so I’m trying to avoid anything that could mess with the tariff.

The inverter is showing what the solar is generating, but the excess power doesn’t seem to be going into the batteries. I suspect the issue might be with the CT clamps — maybe wiring or orientation?

If anyone’s got a similar setup, I’d really appreciate any advice or tips. Photos of your wiring would be a huge help, too.

OK - thanks. I'm only familiar with the S5 range of inverters. Hopefully someone with an S6 might be able to chip in though, being a newer model, there are not a huge number of Solis S6 users on here (yet)

CT wiring and direction is critical for sure. Also:-

a) check that you have set the inverter to 'self-use' mode, assuming the S6 has similar 'modes-of-operation' as the S5 range has and
b) that you have not set any TOU settings that would override the expected charge/discharge operation.
