Speaking from a dual-Quattro perspective, it depends on inverter temps. At low power and mild temps, the fans don't run at all. At higher power/higher temps, the fans are quite noisy.

I’m thinking about a similar setup - under higher-power (ie: ~1.5kW x 2) would the fan noise be enough to be heard through a floor (MPIIx2 one floor below living room)?
I’m using 2 GTIL inverters currently and the loud fan noise under load is one of the reasons I’m thinking of switching to 2 MPIIs instead…

Wrong guy to ask. I find certain noises comforting. I live near a GA airport. I love the sounds of airplanes. Exciting when one of the biz jets takes off. I have a fondness for my inverters. I can't say I would ever find their noise offensive, unless I couldn't have a conversation in the same room, and that hasn't been the case.
