I recently purchase 8 100A cells (those aluminum cells with blue paint). I plan to make 2 12v banks from them with 2 BMS's.
I am wondering what would be the optimal spacing for them? is ventilation necessary? Should I put them against each other without any gap? or maybe a 1/4" inch for some ventilation?

Thanks!

Yes. They were 8 cells each at the same voltage. I did top balance them with bench top power supply. They have held same voltage between each cell.

I have mine stacked without spacing and under compression. Forgot where I saw it, but compression is recommended for higher cycle life, at least on the EVE cells. I don't think heat will be an issue unless running at high c-rates. What c-rate are you running?
