Who here keeps a spare carburettor for their generator?
Short of getting a spare generator I think a spare spark plug and carburettor might be good idea since ethanol gas just seems to gum things up.
Then I can "de-junk" the one that is not in service more or less at my leisure.

Avoid the Ethanol gummy-demon...

Sta-bil to every tank that *MIGHT* sit for more than a week.

Carb rebuilt kit instead of whole carb? both?

I only have sta-bil for both my gennys (6.5kW Onan in the motor home and a 3850W Predator for backup).

Maybe if such a thing exists, a propane conversion kit. I some are designed for dual fuel but I don't know the complexities.
There is no kit for my generator.
I don't think there is room for the adaptor plate.

I keep a bottle of engineered gas to run the first hour.
Then "fresh" ethanol pump gas for the duration.
Then run it empty when the power comes back on.
Them drain the float bowl and do the rest of the prep for long term storage.
I run a litre of engineered gas through it once a year just to make sure it works.

I have done a few natural gas conversions where an adapter plate would fit.
What have you got?
I may be able to give you some ideas on how to make it work.

Natural gas is not available but propane is interesting.

Thanks for the insight. Now I know a good reason not to get one. Lithium makes me happier anyway. :)

That does not matter (propane or nat gas). Propane just requires two regulators.
What generator model do you want to convert?

I use E10 on all of my power equipment. The key is to turn of the fuel valve and let the engine drain the carburetor bowl dry. If you don't have a shut off valve, install one.
