SRNE 20KW parallel ASP journey.

You need more battery. :ROFLMAO:

Those 31 Kwh of cells on order might help.

Overcast heavy today and I left the heat pumps on. It's a test to see how the battery bank fares over the next few days now that it is 72 Kwh.
YUP !
working on the new ESS set up - not ready for the big reveal yet, but making progress.
I'm waiting on some new parts and pieces...hope to see them this coming week.

I can't believe I'm saying it but I really don't know that I need more battery, I definitely want it though.
Coal stove is lit and the big 720CFM convection fan is running, along with the combustion that runs non stop. The convection pulls 300W/h and cycles based on a temp probe I have in the duct work, it might use 3KWh per day when the stove is really cranking.
I have an AC Infinity Raxial I need to replace it with, it uses 46W/h but is only 428CFM. I didn't feel like redoing ductwork today, that will be a project for tomorrow.

Today was probably the best production I'll see this for the remainder of this month / year.

Fan and controller links if anyone is interested.

Purchased October 2017, still works great but it's power hungry and noisy HYDROFARM ACDF8 Active Air Inline Fan, 8 Inch, Green https://a.co/d/45FVfjL

Now You've Done It !! :ROFLMAO: LOL

(with the EV, you can play around with where extra solar is directed each day. You will find yourself watching the weather forecast and considering when and how much PV to dump into the EV even when it's really not needed for a trip. Fun.)

I'm actually looking at adding a small inverter to it so I can put power back in the house battery. The 12V converter can handle 1000W continuous....
Watching the cloud forecast is definitely a bad addiction I've developed.

Try to say that again, in January.
I won't confirm or deny I'm feeling out some different suppliers on baba that claim to have US stock....

Moar battery. I'm loving having 71kwh. Especially since my solar array plans will take another 9 or so months to fully realize.

This week has been horrendous for production. I can usually get around 100kwh.

I got the strut mounted for my vertical test string yesterday. Whether is trash today though, and I'm missing some hardware to mount the panels. Till Wednesday.

I already have the EV and it's essentially free since I'm saving enough money on fuel to pay the insurance and minimum payment; I'm spending a little money paying triple payments because of that awesome 7% interest rate.
I thought about just buying it outright but that would have put a dent in my solar addiction funds 🤣

The best solar payback I have is running a car with "not-gas" - most of the year at least. Damn cloudly November... :ROFLMAO:
I walk across the yard to work so no commute. The work trailer is heavy and I'm building a bigger one this winter to make the diesel work harder.

We put on more miles for doctor appointments for me at the VA, can be 1 hour or 3 hours depending on where I am going and the VA pays me mileage. My wife drives 3 miles to work. Usually go to Menards, HD or Lowes when I have a VA appointment. Tuesday I have to go to Des Moines 3 hours away and on the way back I will be stopping at HD and Lowe's.

All my business related mileage is written off for business expense.

in that case, it makes little sense to spend x2 for an EV over ICE I am sure. EV's are not for everyone.
I walk next door to work too, but picking up any supplies or getting to an airport means a 60 mile drive, and my spouse has things to do in the City often enough. I like having both ICE and EV available to keep my options open. For me, every kWh into the EV from solar is 71-cents of "not gas" travel. I don't have any other options for excess solar that do this well.
I am interested to see if the new Dodge Ram PHEV does what they claim, could be like an EV (for shorter trips) and ICE (for longer trips) wrapped up in one package. Will keep an eye on them. Scared to see the price though. :ROFLMAO:

I bought used to keep the solar budget intact !! LOL - we are all so addicted to this "hobby" it's not even worth denying it...
Same. I wouldn't buy new in todays market, the depreciation is insane and technology is changing rather fast.

It's a great addiction to have, independence is a wonderful thing.

Same here.
I need to figure out how that works with an EV. Not sure if it's different or not.
It is the same but I doubt an EV truck will pull my trailers well. I also went back to a 20+5 gooseneck flatbed for hauling.

The nice part of having plenty of trucks around is to hook a trailer to a truck and not have to unhook it.

Yesterday I went to my Uncle Jim's house and bought his 51 Ford custom pickup. He and I worked on it together when he first bought it. I always liked that truck.

I think I'm up to 13 trucks now.

Something I think about when I pull our 5th wheel. If there was some kind of option that was hybrid I'd seriously look at it. I'm keeping an eye on Edison Motors in Canada. I think, at least with current tech, they have the right idea for heavy hauling, etc. The few things on EV trucks out there don't paint a picture of great range, nor do I think they'd pull 16.000 lbs very well. I want to stop when I can control it and not wait around to charge up.

Today's project will be replacing stove pipe and getting the coal stove ready to fire for the season.
The minisplt is doing great upstairs but the colder overnights are no match for the space heaters I've been running downstairs.
The ~60KWh a week for the Bolt commuting doesn't help either, but it's been frickin nice not stopping at a gas station for over a month.

Truer words have never been spoken 👍🏻

Until this comment. 👍🏻👍🏻
60kwh per week, try the over 200kwh per week for my 2 cars, but it's all free so there is that huge plus. I have been driving electric for close to 8 years now, tons of money saved during that time. Best return on solar energy is using it for a ev.

Range is my only concern. They definitely have the torque to do the job.
I'm also following Edison Motors. Their pickup retrofit kit is going to be awesome.

From what I saw, they've already built up a network of installers in the US. Was thinking the same thing.

Plus, you gotta live a guy who uncovers government corruption without trying, and believes in the right to repair. You gotta know your limits, but I am pretty sick of stuff that needs special tools or I'm told I can't work on myself.
