I bought the SRNE 12k PRO hybrid inverter, has the same specs as the EG4 18k, for less than half the price of the EG418k,

I bought mines from Grandtech, Sini was the one who helped me out.

I am not able to turn on the AC coupling function on the new SRNE12KPRO. It keeps giving me an error and the setting does not save.

Does anyone have any experience with this unit?

What do you mean? Are you trying to used with hybrid option or off grid? What’s your setup? It’s actually pretty easy, the hardest part was lifting to mount on the wall, was able to turn it on 1.5hrs after delivery

More like, I probably could have just bought one. But with the tax credit ending, and shipping being combined, it seemed like it was now or never to just get two and future proof any needs I may have.

That's the HESP - The HEBP in this thread has 2ea 32a controllers rated to 9000 (total 18kw of pv wattage)

Hold your horses!!! I've been having issues with the inverter, seems that they are all software bugs. SO I am still testing, but so far it's been quite frustrating.

Another UPDATE,

SRNE had me do a hard reset and cleared all the settings, and I just realized that the "Start Discharge SOC" reset to 100% so that is why it was not discharging the batteries. I updated the settings and that's working now, so I think this might have been USER error!!! Seriously

I am still trying to figure out communication between the inverter and GSL batteries, but I am thinking that might related to the batteries, not so much the inverter.

Srne... I believe thats the word for a deer in Slovenian...

Sarna is the word for a "Row" Deer in polish....

I would still recommend! I think the issues I am having have to do with my particular GSL batteries. The reason I say that is another user with the same setup reached out to me and he's working closely with GSL to fix the issue with the SRNE and GSL batteries

Is there another inverter to compare with this HEBP at this price point?
The closest ones I’ve seen is the 12000xp (not IP65 rated though and costs $500 more), the other one is the nhx 12k - current price is $1,600 more !

EG4 18kpv is more then double, and you could buy 3 HEBPs for the price of a Solarark 15k…

Not seeing anything close in specs at this price point
