Seems to me there's an opportunity here to encourage new entrants to get their feet wet in solar by building a tiny, inexpensive system using commonly available parts from the local big box or automotive supply store.
For example; one could learn a lot by building a quick-and-dirty $100 system with a 25Watt panel, 10 amp controller, 5 to 12 amp hour lead acid battery, and a 75 to 150 watt inverter.
This would serve to familiarize people with the concepts and the act of actually building something would give them confidence to go on and build a "real" system later.
What do people think? Is this already covered somewhere else? Did I just miss it?

If I count correctly, there are 56 sub-forums. I think we should be looking for ways to combine some, rather than adding more.
