SunPower SunVault 6.5kWh battery

I ordered a couple of these. I have a sunpower system that uses these.

My current system has two Sunpower ESS (SV-BASE13-12-B) systems, with two of these batteries installed in each. These systems can take up to 3 of these batteries each.

When I ordered my system, I ordered them to be fully populated (3 batteries in each.) Sunpower "forgot" one battery for each of them. Took back and forth to get them to finally send out batteries to fulfill what was originally promised. But, when the tech arrived - we found that they had sent out SPWR-M0012 batteries! Oops..

Then - they went out of business. Now I'm stuck with these pretty decent systems that are one battery short each - and 2x SPWR-M0012 batteries I can't use!

So now I'm working through converting/hacking these systems to be manually managed. Had not been able to find any info on the M0020 batteries until this post/beene posting the batteries. So I snagged a couple, and will play with the system and see where I get.
Your reply has me curious, I have a SV-BASE13-12-B in my garage right now and it uses the M0012 batteries that are built as wall mount as opposed to the M0020. I had thought it was the -B designator that determined the version (A, B, and C) with C being the most recent that used the M0020. But now I'm re-thinking my life as you say your -B uses M0020.

Let me double check - the original docs I got from Sunpower state -B. I’ll check on the units themselves and see if they have any discrepancies. That might explain the mis-shipment of the 2x M0012 originally as well.

That's what I'm wondering too. I just unpacked a newer generation that fits the m0020 batteries and it has the AC Disconnect on the left side of the cabinet accessible from the outside. The older models of cabinets don't seem to have this. Just another difference I'm seeing.

Yup - you are right. Looks like it's actually a -C model. The disconnects are on the left side. Here's the outer panel label (serial cut off, of course.)

Well you Solved that mystery, I bet you got quoted the older model and they installed the newer hence them sending the older batteries your way. Cool though since the older could only fit two batteries per cabinet.

The battery manufacture is the same as the battery used in the growatt ARO cabinet, just wondering if the communication and BMS is also the same,

Has anyone ever opened up one of the ARO modules? I was under the impression that the ARO modules were only like 3.3 kWh each, so they’d be half the size of these

I have removed the 4 corner screws to look at BMS which looks the same, looking at photos of sunvault. I have not looked at the cells.
