Hello everybody,

I just received my 17 cells from DOCAN ( L280K), but I noticed one of them is having a sort kind of strain on the foil of the vent. There’s also a kind of sweet smell coming from that spot, but there are no substance leakeages from the cell. By the way, when i’ve tested them with ebc a40l electronic load, I noticed a similar sweet smell coming out from the rubber/ plastic which is covering the tester clamps. But Even when it’s in stand-by the cell is smelling, sweet smell. Daisy from DOCAN says it’s just due to transportation moisture/humidity and to have no worry, but I think her standard answer and I’m worry about it. By the way, the cells are 274Ah maximum and not 280 as adviced. Does somebodyelse had this issue ? Is this safe to use it under these circumstances?

The good thing is that LFP is generally safe from a catastrophic even even during failure. Although best to keep them out of the direct living space. I would probably put them in service unless something escalates during testing and assembly.

17 cells? Is there one extra to set aside?

One is for backup, i’ll do 16S + JK BMS + Growatt 5000. But the smell is worrying me afterall…

I think Docan has a TX warehouse.... any chance of sending the single back for evaluation or exchange?

You said that last time on another tread maitake

This is getting serious now what is up with these cells & smells???

There’s no pressure or bubbeling on the vent, I’ve separated it from the rest, but the smell is still present. I would say it smells like a 2-3 on a 1-10 strong smell scale.
