I purchased a system last year which fully complies with the rules on the 30% tax credit. No problems there. My question is more of a sanity check - would I be eligible for another tax credit this year if I buy additional batteries (as long as they exceed 3k capacity)?
The IRS rules state "Qualified battery storage technology costs. Qualified battery storage technology costs are costs for battery storage technology that is installed in connection with your home located in the United States and has a capacity of at least 3 kilowatt hours."
There doesn't appear to be any mention that this battery storage technology is an add on to an existing system.
Am I reading this correctly? I shoulda/coulda bought more batteries on my initial purchase. Shoulda listened to everyone that said buy more than you think.
