Hey everyone I have a question and need some help.
I have a 280 amp lifepo4 battery in a milk crate! yay me. well I put some thru polts in it and the thru bolts as terminal ends get way to hot! I was charging the battery at 30 amps and its burnning hot on the negative and just very hot on the posative end. im using 3/8 rod and bolts to hold them thru the milk crate. I cranked those bolts very tight. but still the heat is a very bad indication something is very wrong. info just in case its needed to help.
12 volt system eve 280 cells jdb 120 BMS charging 30 amps in. out put to inverter should be 130 amps, using 1/0 guage or if I can use 4 guage doubled.

thanks for the help in advance.

When you say 3/8 rod, are you using steel all thread?
Steel is a poor conductor, that could be the entirety of your issue.
What are you cable lug crimps like?

Can you share pics of the set up?

yes threaded steal rod, I know it was a poor choice but supplies have been limited :( the crimps or puddle solder and the inverter ends came with the inverter. If I can get Brass? or ???? please suggest the best metal to use and I will attempt to procure it. My rv is pretty dead in the water till I get this all fixed and safe for instalation.
