Hi,

I have got my hands on a Tesla Mod 3 Performance 75kWh battery. I disassembled the battery and have now the battery strings (96S) 400VDC available. The charging will not be the problem, as I designed the PV to deliver me the voltage range of 379-418VDC, but the reuse into the inverter will be an issue as long as I can not control the discharging current. Does anyone have experience with DIY DC-coupled HV Batterie storage?

Jack Rickard has been trying to do this for years, but still can't do it at 400VDC.
This is why he only promotes systems using Model S modules at 24V or 48V.
Model 3 pack layout does not lend itself to DIY projects because of high voltage modules.
You can read Jack's blog over the past 2-3 years to glimpse into the root of the problem.

There are some commercial inverters at HV DC , but the smallest one I've seen is 50kW, quite large and very expensive. You can feed 5-10 homes with it, so not really a good fit for an average DIY offgrid system.
