I recently purchased two 48V 3,000W Victron Multiplus 2 inverters from a gentleman who claimed they had never been used. After inspecting the components inside, I’m inclined to believe him—they look brand new.
At the moment, I don’t have any 48V batteries available, but I’d like to test the inverters and set them up for dual-phase operation so they’ll be ready to install when the batteries arrive.
I do, however, have a 48V battery charger, and I was wondering: has anyone ever used a battery charger to power on and configure Victron inverters instead of an actual battery? If so:
Were there any issues with the charger maintaining stable voltage and current?
Did it allow the inverters to power on fully for setup?
Any tips or precautions I should take to avoid damage?
I’d appreciate any insights, advice, or experiences you can share. Thank
s in advance!
