I've been trying to assess the feasibility of a (predominantly) DIY grid tie system with an interconnect agreement with Oncor. There seems to be minimal info about this in the forum, so I wanted to create a central thread for all things Oncor-related, including fees, interconnection, etc. Please post any info you might have that could be helpful for other Oncor users and I will try to keep this thread updated.

- Who/What is Oncor
- Oncor is the electric distribution/transmission utility for a substantial part of Texas. They own the transmission lines and thus charge a distribution. fee that is part of your bill from whomever you select as your residential service provider.
- Oncor requires a permitted installation as part of their application process (termed Interconnection of Distributed Generation). The general overview and a copy of a printable version of the application can be found at https://www.oncor.com/content/dam/oncorwww/documents/smart-energy/energy-system-developers/Oncor Interconnection Application for Certified Systems.pdf.coredownload.pdf
- This means you will need to apply for a permit for your installation (building, electrical), and demonstrate that after permit approval that your system has passed inspection.
- Once you have passed inspection, you can apply for an interconnection agreement. If you are a homeowner, you will need to email dg@oncor.com to request access to their online application system (eTRACK).
- After approval of an interconnection agreement Oncor will issue a "permission to operate." They will then perform any equipment/programming issues on their side and your system can then be energized
