Not sure if this is the right place for this post… I’ve finally got around to starting my battery build.
5mm minicell foam between cells
Plywood case with some threaded bar & wing nuts for compression.
I’ve no idea on the right amount of compression, my thoughts is a little compression is better than none?

One unforeseen issue that arose was my stock busbars no longer fit due to adding 5mm distance between studs. So I’ve taken it as an opportunity to order some flat copper bar & will create some fresh busbars ASAP.
It’s all starting to get real !

I am just about to start my 48 v battery. Could you tell me how you will wire it up. Are shunts necessary?
There’s far more knowledge sitting on this forum than what I can offer. I’m also just starting. I will try and update with my progress. As for Shunts they’re not 100% necessary but I’d say they are preferable.
They offer extra data which can’t be a bad thing.
good luck ?

Yes all good. I'll try and add more pix at some point - I went with the 123BMS

Nice. I just started designing my deployment. I think I am going to do the Will special and install my own batteries on those metal kitchen racks.

The issue I have is the systems location is in a cold garage, so I was keen to keep my cells insulated
