They want to charge you for using the sun now

Big government can charge you for whatever it wants and how much it wants. Revolutions are occasionally required to put a stop to it and the cycle repeats. That’s the way it’s always been and the way it always will be. Ecclesiastes 1:9 “….there is no new thing under the sun”
 
Sounds like rubbish to me. I wonder if it's just fake news to get people to vote against it for another reason, maybe anti nuclear group or something?

They State:
To pay for it, ratepayers will be charged a new fee based on “gross” energy consumption. This includes the solar energy that powers your home during the day or charges your battery. (Section 9(l) of the bill)

The Bill State 9(L):
l) (1) Any costs the commission authorizes the operator to recover in rates under this section shall be recovered on a fully nonbypassable basis from customers of all load-serving entities subject to the commissions’s jurisdiction, as determined by the commission, except as otherwise provided in this section. The recovery of these nonbypassable costs by the load-serving entities shall be based on each customer’s gross consumption of electricity regardless of a customer’s net metering status or purchase of electric energy and service from an electric service provider, community choice aggregator, or other third-party source of electric energy or electricity service.

Now I am not even sure what all of this means but at several other points in the Bill it states that the any additional expenses cannot be pased onto the customers. This bill is upper long and to even reading the total part section 9 was eye watering.

My Question:
Ok so someone explain to me how the power company is going to know your "Gross energy consumption"?
Even with Grid Tied they have no way of knowing how much power your Inverter is providing to power your house.

Given the current way our government runs they will force us to have meters that can be read outside the house read by the Gestapo.
Wait, they already do that.

Just like in my state where it is legal for a tax assessor to walk into your property; look in windows to see if you basement is finished. All without a warrant.

They have a meter that is before the Inverter. They can only see the power that is coming in from the Grid or Power you sell back to them. They cannot see the amount of power that is being used by the house even when grid tied.

Have you actually seen something that says this is legal or has this happened to you?
I only ask because both the Left and Right propaganda sites are throwing out some pretty crazy stuff on the Internet that is completely untrue.

There was a post just here tonight that mentioned such. Hence my thought to mention it here. I will try to dig it up.

Never seen, nor taken the time to see if it is legal in my state as I would revert back to the 4th Amendment which would trump any state law. But yes I had someone drive up my long driveway and stopped them years ago. They said "assessing property". Asked them for a warrant then told them to leave. They were a private company not the government. Very common here. It is some outside commercial business that contracts with towns and cities to provide such services. Maybe paid on contingencies?

There are plans in many places I’m aware of , to start requiring a meter on wells for those not on the server water areas.they will charge on your usage …. They are just tring to figure how to phrase the reason for the fee to offend as few as possible…haaa. I have heard talk of the solar tax in a couple of areas in the east states.

Hell they do it here on the daily.
Just walk in your yard and if you ask them who they are it” County assessor or County Inspector” like that is supposed to be like saying GOD or something.

I had one of these bastards open my shed to see what was in it.

Needless to say they now all have locks and no windows.

Easy. Two meters. The typical meter between utility and your main panel, and another meter between the inverter output and the panel.

You could never pay me enough to live in California. The level of stupid that goes on there seems endless.

Robby, asking is it legal and can they do that in the same sentence is simple to answer…
sure they can … they do it everyday…one has nothing to do with the other… and if you cause em grief they all huddle together and vote to pass a law ,so now it is legal…it like a magic genie bottle.

them law makers have got a good gig goin.
