Tim's build thread (get off my lawn)

I'm shooting for 5 days of autonomy. (Time without solar production)
Some days, I go through 60 kwh. So, 300 kwh is the goal.
60 a day is a lot. I just don't want my batteries to sit at a high SOC all the time. At least the Asic miner is making me money while cycling my battery down some.

It really depends on your usage. Some people use 6kWh a day, others 100kWh.
I use around 30kWh a day in May, so even with 95kWh of battery, a few rainy days and I'm drained.

Yes and no... Yesterday I put half a tank of electrons in my VW = 30kWh. Add in 2 loads of washing and tumbling; 10kWh into a 'night' storage heater, cooking, dishwashing and heating all my hot water = 60kWh used up in total :)

I have electric everything but still don't use much. I do have and EV but don't drive it much so most days the battery is charged by noon. Now I run the bitcoin miner when I have too much energy not getting used.

Can do 5 days, no Solar or grid if I don’t need heat.
A/C doesn’t use nearly the power that Heat does. At least for me.

My Shunt tells me I have 6825Ah of battery which is about 350kWh.

If I calculate manually ( just count ah per battery) I get 300kWh.

Actually, I could as it is now. (If I watch my usage)
But there's still two (possibly three) EV's in the future plans. And one will have to be charged mostly at night.

It occurred to me that maybe he has been foolin us about having a real job for years and just stays home and buys stuff online and hooks up new things everyday….

He get more done in a week than I do in a season.. I’m envious ….
One of the perks of being self employed (I was for 29 years) is that you can at times dictate when you are busy. A benefit that helps offset some of the headaches that come with being self employed.

I can be very efficient with my time. As long as I complete the project in my head first.

Not really but keep believing it. 38 years, I'm semi retired but still working 60 plus hours a week.

I had surgery on my sinuses yesterday so I get a few days off. Allows me to order items for the house SRNE install.

You should be here the last 4 days, the phone has been ringing off the hook. I'll be busy next week and the week after trying to catch off with this mini vacation. :)
