I'm building a 4S4P 24 aHr pack using 32650 and their plastic holders.
My question... I was going to weld the nickel strip across the ends for a 16p bank for top balancing. So when I achieve a top balanced pack how do I reconfigure for 4S4P without ripping the nickel straps off the cells? Whether I weld them with the plastic holder on or not I can't re- assemble the pack with welded strips. I could top balance sets of 4P separate but still need to partially disassemble them to put the holders together again in 4S4P. Is there a simple solution to this that I just haven't thought of? Is there a temporary method to string these together so I can weld when finished?
