Total newbie interested in feasibility and very rough estimate for off grid solar to charge my EV

420ohms had good info,

Well, the wife hesitated after a few roasts were reported, so...
I get it...battery recall.... Good one.

I was 1000% certain mine had the new pack before buying.

For the record I think it's a pretty fugly vehicle that governs out way to soon; however I didn't buy it for styling or speed, I bought it for practicality.

provide L1 charging at 120v/12 amps
VanaBolt owner here.
Don't wast your time at 120V when the OEM evse can take 240V anyway. It's my main charging source at 12A/240V since 6 years.

If the Bolt powertrain is nice enough to push a 1979 VW Vanagon whithout problem* since 6 years now, I don't see how the Bolt can't be a good EV ;)

42ohm prices are about right to me. Even 1500$ for a smaller of the shelf battery sound good to me.
It's also possible to find cheaper 240V only AIO in the range of 5-6 kW, but it's probably nice to have ~8-10 kW split phase.

Quick costs that come to mind.
~$1300 for AIO inverter, thanks to tariffs.
~$1500 for battery, if you build your own. (Double that if you aren't building your own).
~$2000 for panels and mounting if you find them locally.
~$750 for everything else; wire, fuses, breakers, conduit, tools, etc.

*except battery recall
