I know this is a real noob question, but does anyone know if the Tracer 4215BN will down convert from my 24 volt array to 12 volt battery bank?

AND

If I bought the 40 amp model, does it have the option to throttle the 40 amps to something less in the settings? I was hoping to "grow" into it instead of buying the 30 amp model and quickly out growing it, I will spend the little more now

If you wish to keep reading, the reason I ask is I have 4 Eco Worthy 195 watt panels, I have them ran in a series configuration (2x2) for a 24 volt system. And I also have two 12 volt AGM batteries. BUT I have a 12 volt inverter. I could just buy a 24 volt inverter and run the batteries in series, but my PWM controller is cheap and will eventually need to be replaced anyway. So my thinking is the Epever MPPT controller would kill two birds with one stone and allow me to use what I have. (actually I have never killed a bird with one stone :p)

Okay I got an answer from an ebay seller, who said yes to the first question. But as far as the 40 amp model, it may be too much to charge my two 12 volt agm batteries? I plan on upgrading my battery bank some day. But I cant do it right now for financial reasons

Batteries are what Ah?
4 195w panels is 780 watts ÷ 12V is 65A so your 40A SCC is overpaneled.
24V battery would halve the amps.
Do you have the Tracer manual to read the specs?

What is the Voc Vmp Amps on your 195 watt panels?
12V Inverter is how many watts?

Yes here is the label

the batteries are 100 ah each at 10 hour

the inverter is rated at 1000 watts
