TrinaSolar TS4 Connector to MC4

I picked up some Trina panels from SanTan Solar.

They have a slightly different connector than the standard MC4. They seem to be at least partially compatible, but the connection isn't that solid and standard MC4 wrenches don't seem to work for disconnecting. I use 2 small screw drivers to release the lock. I've already broken one of the prongs.

I'm using these panels for a backup generator. So I need to connect/disconnect on a regular basis.

I've seen a couple of places that sell an adapter cable. $30 shipped for a couple of connectors and a 1' of cable.

I'm wondering if I should just snip off a couple the ends and attach MC4 connectors. The cabling seems a little thicker than normal. I'd like to make sure this will work before I start snipping.

TIA!

Appreciate the site!

Quoting from their Doc.
It is hereby stated that TS4 Connectors used in aforementioned Trina Solar module types are compatible with the MC4 connector

reading that, I wouldn't be paying $30 for adapter cables

For that purpose, you'd be much better off using Anderson connectors for the breakaway. They are much more robust and will cope better with any arcing.
