On the batteries, I would NOT put a 280 ah battery in series with 100 ah batteries. Ideally batteries in series should all be identical and same age.
You could get away with a 24 volt system, if you bought another identical 280 ah battery. Parallel a 100 ah with 280 ah battery to create 2 380 ah batteries, then wire those two in series. Not ideal, but would work with a battery balancer.
You would want to temporarily put all the batteries in parallel and fully charge all the batteries before you started, and let them sit for 24 hours so all reached an equal charge.
Best bet is probably return the current batteries and get identical batteries if you want higher voltage or get a single 48 volt 100ah battery.
