Hi,

Here's a pics of a well built Deye 16K Single phase version of their latest Hybrid Inverter, a distance cousin of Sol-Ark's 15K. Just one 1KW more ????

The hardware build is pretty impressive. It have two built in 200A DC circuit breaker for two sets 1 AWG battery M8 input connectors, with Max charge/discharge of 290A. Grid, Load and Gen input HEX bolts connectors supporting 2 AWG. The initial impression, this is solidly built Hybrid inverter by Deye. The 16K will support the newer generation of large 550V~600V solar panels, supporting ISC(A) of an impressive 44A across all 3 MPPT

I plan to use a Victron 100A (100A * 240V = 24 KW) Autotransformer for Load balancing and providing a Neutral for Split-Phase 120V~240V, to replace the 2 x Parallel Deye 8K Split-phase. The 16K will allow me to install larger panels and my new 8 x 300A Batteries bank providing a total 122.88 KW (300A * 51.2V * 8 Battery).

Overall, I'm very impressed with the Deye 16K. Will post more details as I start the new build process.

Here's the pick of this week's pickup of the 16K from the CSF warehouse.

The 16K is humongous, sitting on it's own pallet weighing 60KG ~ 132 LBS

Sweet, two built in 200A DC Battery Breakers. The two sets of M8 battery post are parallel internally, allowing for balancing two sets of battery bank.

Gen, Grid and Load input terminals are now in HEX Bolt and not Philips screen than can easily slip. Deye provide the Torque value (max) 18.6Nm

Here's how I intend to wire up for Split-Phase 120V~240V 60 HZ application.

Victron 100A Autotransformer ?

Earlier this year, there's a big discussion about installing of the Growatt ES500 with SolarEdge 5KW Autotransformer and the issues of Ground Bonding issues. Questions of Losing the Neutral when the Autotransformer is down and damages that will be cause to all 120Vs circuit breaker on the LOAD panel, suddenly becoming 240V and damage/frying to all 120V connected appliance. There were suggestions of using 2 Autotransformer and using relays to monitor the Neutral line and so on. Just a complex mess and no real solution to the problem when loosing the Neutral wire.

Well, in my application, with a larger 24K Autotransformer load balancing the LOAD output of the Deye 16K's 16KW, The LOAD panel will be wired directly from the Victron's output L1, L2 and N terminals. As such if the Victron or the Deye 16K is down, all circuits on the LOAD panel will be down automatically, period. No damage will be caused to both the 240V and 120V circuits. The Victron has a built in Earth/Ground relay, allowing for Neutral to Ground bonding. Simple and Elegant solution to a Chicken or an Egg problem ???

Interesting thread, are you planning to connect the CT and use feed back to the grid or would you be off grid?
Hi,

In my current setup, I've installed an Eaton 3-way transfer switch that will provide the flexibility to be On and Off grid. The system is connected with Gird with grid-sell Disabled. I normally run the Inverter in Off-grid mode and will pull power from the Grid when I run low on the 200A x 5 x 51.2V = 51.2KW Battery bank due to 3 or more continuous low sun cloudy days.

Why it has to be off-grid? Isn't the inverter is grid-tie capable?
When the 8K are operating in On-Grid mode, even the Sun is shinning and Battery is fully charged, the Inverter will nibble power from the Gid and is annoying. See table below when is operating will Grid-Sell is OFF and Eaton 3-way transfer switch is in Grid-Tie mode.

I do have a pair of large 200A CT that was purchased Sol-Ark installed, as the smaller 8K factory supplied CT are too small for the 2/0 entrance cable from the Grid.

Nice,
so you switch your main panel between grid and load with your transfer switch correct?
And you have your 2 CT's on the incoming power lines?
