Understanding battery cable size chart for EG4 1200xp

Parallel two pieces of 2/0AWG (so a total of 4 conductors, two on positive and two on negative) or use a single run (one wire on positive and one wire on negative) of 4/0 AWG.

Personally, I'd just go for 4/0 to keep things simple.

I had the very same question so thanks for that...... but also, the battery inter connect cables that come with the

EG4 LifePower4 V2 Lithium Batteries Kit | 30.72kWh | 6 Server Rack Batteries.... is just 6 AWG.... can this be right?

They're fine if you're using them in a fully populated 6-unit EG4 rack with busbars and one inverter. I calculate my system with 18K and six LL-S has a max DC current of 280A, and 47A each battery.

Disregard, that's already been answered...... 4/0
Already answered, but for me I used a pair of 2/0 cables instead of a single 4/0. Mostly because of the size of the battery lugs in the 18Kpv - 2/0 fine stranded cable will barely fit in there. I sincerely doubt I could fit a 4/0 into the 18K lug without some strands being trimmed. Will mentioned this in one of his review videos.

I just read in the battery manual: The battery will come with 1 set of 4 AWG power cables

Looking at page 17 of the EG4 1200XP manual...

There's a chart on recommended wire sizes for connecting the batteries to the inverter.

From this chart I don't understand two things:

  1. whether the recommended size is 2/0 or 4/0.
  2. why 2/0 AWG has a (x2) and 4/0 has a (x1).

Thanks in advance for any insight.

This may be a bit off topic, but not finding a better place to post my question. I have a single EG4 6000XP with a 3 position EG4 rack with 3 LLS 48v Batteries. The Cables from the rack to the inverter are 2/0 cables. I just purchased a new 6 position Rack and 3 more LLS batteries. Are the 2/0 cables Good with the 3 extra batteries or should I upgrade?

This should be okay, since the recommended is 1 AWG for the 140A the inverter discharges from battery.
