My current setup

Ongrid

Growatt 5 kw with two mppt strings capability

Connected 12 x 250w panel in series to one string

Able to generate on an average 12 kWh per day

Offgrid

Luminous 5 kw solar inverter

Connected to 4 x 12v 200ah lead acid battery bank in series

Fed by 4 x 395w panel In series

My upgrade plan

Add 4 x 540 w bifacial panels to one string of the ongrid Inverter

Swap 12 x 250w panels out to offgrid inverter and bring the 4 x 395 w panel in series to the other string
?
Will the above be an optimal setup with minimum investment

you are at 3000W on your ongrid setup. You want to add 2160 to that device, which I think is rated at 5,000 watts max. You want to know if connecting 5160W to a 5000W max will work? it depends on the voltage and amps in the panels.

Oh wait you then want to take the 12 panels to the offgrid, and put the 1580W series to the on-grid.

It would be helpful if you could show us what the end goal would be. Show us what you have vs. what you will have. Provide specs on the inverter and the panels.

you need to provide inverter model # and panel specs as well.

with mental math estimation,
string voltage for the ongrid (4x395) + (4x540) might be too low to get it to operate.

string voltage for 12x250 offgrid (if in series) probably too high.
might consider doing 4s 3P or 6s 2P setup.
