This is an old three blade generator with 40' mast with hydraulic cylinder for maintenance, it has a 20kw generator on it that I can buy for $2,500 I don't know really what I will need to get also to make this work I know it won't make me money. But I would like to do it if it makes some sense. I'm located in Bonner Springs Kansas

Welcome to the Forum.

20kW machine on a 40' tower doesn't add up. Give or take that would be a 25-30' rotor.

1 or 2 kW sounds more plausible? Any pictures? How long are the blades? How old? Rough estimates are fine.

Is it a battery charging model? If it's grid tied you'll likely never get approval to interconnect as it's so old it's inverter doesn't carry the modern standards.

I can't see where it make any financial sense but it may be fun to play around with, just my 2 cents.
