used Outback Flexmax FM 60

Ive spotted a used Flexmax FM 60 for €220 (250 USD) ive no idea how old it is but there is a photo of it wired up & working. New here, they're 760 USD if you can get them, or 450 USD from ebay UK. What are theses units like ? I know they have a good reputation. Im looking at using it with a 2S2P set up 50 VOC 600 w panels.

They are good units but thats not a great price for used.
You might as well get a open box Victron 150/60 mppt for less

Yes, that's a great point, I'm just idly scrolling through second hand stuff. That's a really good price, the best ive seen here in Spain is 370 USD. Open Box ? returns i guess ?

Or its a workaround to victron minimum advertising price...

Also it’s the blue solar, no Bluetooth. I like the idea of high quality US made kit, I’ve got bought a second hand TriStar 45 but the price new !!!

True. However if bluetooth is a must, the outback wont have it either.
The outback chargers are great, i really haven't ran across one yet that failed. The older ones were manufactured for outback by fangpusun in china. Obviously it wasnt an issue for quality but dont expect usa made.
Electronics dont last forever. There should be a date sticker on the side of the outback, if over 10 years i probably wouldn't buy one.


Keep in mind too they are single decimal place adjust. If you are ocd about lithium cell voltages you wont like that.
